I am passionate about bringing meaning, confidence, and tradition to your son’s Bar Mitzvah.
Shalom, I'm Haim.

As both a lifelong Torah reader and a father of four, I know firsthand how powerful and personal a Bar Mitzvah journey can be. Teaching my own sons to read from the Torah was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and I bring that same dedication and care to every student I teach.
With over 20 years of experience preparing boys from all backgrounds, I specialize in helping each young man confidently chant his Torah portion directly from the Sefer Torah. Whether your son is already fluent in Hebrew or just starting out, I offer a warm, patient, and customized approach. From non-readers to fluent Hebrew speakers, I’ve guided hundreds of students through the process with success and pride.
I was raised in a rich tradition of Torah, music, and community. For over 40 years, I’ve served as a dedicated baal koreh (Torah reader), and I’ve had the honor of training under world-renowned cantors. My deep knowledge of both Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions, from Aliyot laTorah to chazanut and synagogue customs allows me to tailor the learning to your family’s heritage and values.
My goal is not only to teach your son how to read from the Torah, but to help him feel a real sense of pride, connection, and accomplishment.
Again and again, parents tell me how amazed they are by their son’s growth in maturity, confidence, and love for Jewish learning. If you're looking for a teacher who is passionate, experienced, and deeply rooted in tradition, I would be honored to be part of your family’s Bar Mitzvah journey.
I teach all nusachim (traditions), including Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Israeli pronunciation. Lessons typically begin 6 to 12 months prior to the Bar Mitzvah date, depending on your child’s needs and background. I work with families from all over the world via Zoom, FaceTime, or WhatsApp, making the learning process accessible and convenient no matter where you are.
